The short version. Waqti does not collect any personal data. There are no accounts, no ads, no analytics, and no tracking. Your settings and prayer plans are stored on your devices. Apple processes location lookups and purchases as described below. If this ever changes, we will say so here plainly and in advance.
What we collect
We, the developer, do not receive or store your personal information on our servers. Waqti has no account system. Some optional features use Apple services or open an external app, as described below.
What the app stores on your device
Waqti saves your settings, chosen location, saved places, Jumu‘ah plans, and voluntary-prayer check-ins locally on your device using iOS storage. This information stays on your device (and in your own iCloud or device backups, which we cannot access). We, the developer, have no way to see it.
Location
Waqti calculates prayer times and Qibla direction on your device. To display a city name after a GPS update, it sends your coordinates to Apple’s reverse-geocoding service. We do not receive these coordinates. You can instead choose a city without granting location access.
City search and nearby masjids
When you search for a city or for a nearby masjid, the text you type and an approximate region are sent to Apple’s Maps service to return results. This is handled by Apple under Apple’s privacy policy. Waqti does not attach your identity to these lookups.
Watch and directions
If you use Apple Watch, your calculation settings and a manually selected city are transferred to your paired watch. Opening Maps or a ride app shares the selected destination with that provider, under its privacy policy.
Calendar (Waqti Pro)
If you enable Calendar-aware windows, Waqti reads your device calendar on the device to check whether an event overlaps a prayer window. Calendar events are read only on your device, are never uploaded, and are never modified. You can revoke calendar access at any time in iOS Settings › Privacy & Security › Calendars › Waqti.
Notifications
Prayer, window, and reminder notifications are scheduled locally by iOS on your device. Nothing is sent to a server to deliver them, and they work offline.
Purchases
Waqti Pro is a one-time purchase processed by Apple through the App Store. Apple handles the transaction and your payment details; we never see your payment information. Your purchase is tied to your Apple ID and restores across your devices without any account with us.
No analytics, advertising, or tracking
Waqti contains no third-party advertising, no analytics SDKs, and no tracking technologies. We do not sell personal data or use it for advertising. Apple’s services process the requests described above under Apple’s privacy policy.
Children
Waqti is suitable for all ages and collects no personal data from anyone, including children.
Changes to this policy
If we ever change how the app handles data, we will update this policy and the “Last updated” date above before the change takes effect.
