Accounts and syncing

You can read, listen, and use the free memorization courses without a Layl account. Sign in from Settings with email, Apple, or Google to sync your library and progress. Google opens a secure browser sheet and returns you to Layl when sign-in finishes. Use the same account on each device; Apple’s Hide My Email address may differ from your usual email.

If syncing seems delayed, check your connection and the account shown in Settings. Keep the app open briefly after reconnecting. Avoid deleting the app while troubleshooting: local progress and downloads may be lost if they have not been backed up.

Learn and practice

Choose a surah in Memorize, then use Learn for a short ayah range or Practice to test yourself. Opening Learn does not mark a lesson learned. Mark lessons learned when you feel ready, individually or with Mark all lessons learned. Learning completion and quiz scores are separate.

Practice fills after a completed attempt. Your best score earns one star at 70%, two at 80%, and three at 90%; a perfect score adds a highlight. Retrying can improve your stars and never removes them. Section quizzes stay within their section. Surah quizzes sample across the whole surah.

Progress and reminders

Your progress shows lessons learned, completed surahs, and recent activity. Listening time counts time actually played, excluding pauses, and updates after a listening session ends. Very short sessions may not appear. Activity covers the selected 7, 30, or 90 days.

Listening and memorization reminders have separate controls in Settings. If reminders do not arrive, check Layl’s notification permission in iPhone Settings and your Focus settings.

Downloads and playback

With Premium, download audio for offline listening and manage it in Downloads. Wait for a download to finish before going offline. If playback or a download fails, check your connection, available storage, media volume, and audio output. Retry the affected download. Removing a download frees local storage; it does not reset lesson progress.

Restore, manage, or cancel Premium

Premium is tied to the Apple Account used for the App Store purchase, separately from your Layl sign-in. Use Settings → Restore Purchases in Layl with the same Apple Account. To cancel, open iPhone Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Layl. Deleting Layl or deleting a Layl account does not cancel an Apple subscription. Apple’s cancellation instructions.

For a refund, submit a request to Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Delete data or your account

Open Settings → Data privacy control. Delete my data erases your library and practice data on this device and, when signed in, from the server after confirmation. Your account and downloads are kept. If the request is pending, reconnect and wait for confirmation.

Delete account removes the account and its server data; data already on your device is kept. Both actions require confirmation. For help accessing or deleting an account, email us from the address associated with it.
